Dr. Bryar Koyi: Don’t underestimate the importance of the periodontal re-assessment! – 16:30-17:00

You have just finished a course of non-surgical periodontal therapy and you schedule the patient to see you in 2-3 months’ time for a “review”. The review appointment puts the patient at a crossroads, where very important decisions for the management of periodontal disease need to be taken. Unfortunately most often the significance of this appointment is underestimated. If you are unsure of what to do next, listen to this 20 minute briefing on the steps that you should take during the periodontal reassessment appointment.

Bryar qualified from Barts and The London Dental School with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). He worked as a general dentist for a number of years in South Kensington, London, before starting a 3-year specialist training in Periodontology. During his specialist training, he was awarded with a Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry (Periodontology) as well as a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Periodontology from Barts & The London Dental School. Bryar also holds a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Genetics from King’s College London.

Upon completion of his specialty training, Bryar successfully passed the Royal College of Surgeons Membership in Periodontics exams in Edinburgh and was awarded with the Completion of Specialist Training Certificate by the General Dental Council and was subsequently enrolled as a Specialist Periodontist.

Bryar works mainly in private and specialist practices in London. His main interest lies in management of all aspects of periodontal disease as well as soft tissue aesthetics. Bryar has published in peer-reviewed journals and lectures nationally and internationally.
